When I was asked to photograph a proposal that took place at Maggie Daley Park Ice Skating Ribbon, I was totally down for an adventure. After all, this location has become a Chicago landmark where locals and tourists gather to skate around the ribbon, enjoy hot chocolate and snap selfies with the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink. I was there snapping something way better in my opinion 😉

The Best Times to Photograph a Proposal at Maggie Daley Park

Maggie Daley Park is a beautiful and popular park that is located on the north end of Grant Park. It opened in 2015, but it has quickly become one of the most iconic Chicago locations.

The best time to photograph a proposal at Maggie Daley Park is either before sunset or after sunset. This is because during these times the park is filled with the best light possible!

Beautiful Locations around Maggie Daley Park

There are also several different backdrops that can be used depending on what you’re looking for. One of my favorite backdrops at Maggie Daley Park is actually the ice skating ribbon! This spot provides an amazing backdrop for any couple that wants to use it as well!

I had a fantastic time photographing this proposal! If you decide to use this location, please reach out and we can make it happen. And remember, it was pretty cold—bring hot chocolate! 😉
